Frederick Van Johnson, Host
Frederick is the host of the show, and also a professional Photographer and Marketer.
Along with being the creative mind behind TWiP, he also regularly blogs, lectures and conducts photography training classes, meetups, seminars, workshops, and photo-walks.
Frederick is a sought-after speaker/lecturer on a topics including photographic technique, business, social media, and marketing.
Frederick is also founder and CEO of MediaBytes — The Marketing School for Photographers. MediaBytes is an instructional web site created to help photographers market themselves on and offline through traditional media, Internet Marketing, and Social Media.
Alex Lindsay, Co-Host
Alex has been working in computer graphics and video production for over 20 years. Starting in Programming and Computer Aided Drafting, Alex has worked in print, games, interactive, broadcast, and film.
He spent 3 years working at Lucasfilm and Industrial Light and Magic on “Star Wars: Episode 1″ before starting his own companies, dvGarage and the Pixel Corps. dvGarage builds tools for the Visual Effects community.
Ron Brinkmann, Co-Host
Ron is an occasional supervisor in the visual effects and animation world, Ron Brinkmann is the author of The Art and Science of Digital Compositing, which is regarded as a standard reference book in the visual effects industry.
One of the founding employees of Sony Pictures Imageworks, he was also part of the initial design and development team that produced the digital compositing application Shake (subsequently acquired by Apple). Brinkmann continued at Apple for a while, working on, among other things, their photo-management software Aperture.
Mr. Brinkmann frequently speaks at seminars on the topics of visual effects, photography, digital filmmaking and general technology, having given talks in Europe, China, Singapore, Thailand, Australia, Japan and India (and several less-interesting locations).
Steve Simon, Co-Host
Steve is author of four critically acclaimed photography books with works in major museum collections around the world, he has had solo shows in New York, Buenos Aires, Toronto and Montreal and his work has been featured three times at the Visa Pour L’Image Photojournalism Festival in Perpignan, France.
He is on the faculty of ICP and SVA in New York and is a contributing photographer for The Digital Journalist. International awards include: Art Director’s Club of New York, The Canadian Newspaper Photographer of The Year, Global Health Council Photography Award for his work on AIDS in Africa, Alfred Eisenstaedt Magazine Photography Award Nomination, PX3 2008.
Suzanne Llewellyn, Producer
Suzanne is the lead producer for “This Week in Photo” and “This Week in Media” for Pixel Corps.TV. She also mentors new recruits in multi-media production.
In addition to being a producer, Suzanne is also a writer and editor for several Star Wars fan sites, among them Imperial Chicks and Lightsabre, the world’s #1 interview site for Lucasfilm cast and crew members. In her spare time, she coordinates special events, photography and video shoots.
She has worked on radio, TV, and indie film projects for WonderCon, ComicCon, MacWorld, MacBreak, Maker Faire, NPR, PBS, and The Travel Channel.
Bruce Clarke, Show Notes Writer
Bruce is a wedding and event photographer from Edmonton, Alberta and the creative force behind Moments in Digital. Bruce is also the Director of Content for TWiP, responsible for gathering the news stories and questions that form the basis for each week’s discussions on the TWiP podcast.
