    You guys talking about using ” marks almost made me turn off. You were talking for about 5 mins referring to Google (THE search people), NOT being able to make a search…???

    Regarding the Canon Store, Nikon had a showroom/repair drop-off/gallery in Rockefeller Center in New York City for many years. You could go in and try any camera body with any lens without sales pressure. You were also able to arrange repairs on any Nikon USA imported product.

    The gallery had about 4 shows a year of work from their Nikon World magazine.

    Nikon have centres in Kuala Lumpur and Kota Kinabalu in Malaysia, neither of which actually sell products. The one in Kuala Lumpur has a classroom and they run workshops from there, and they also travel to many other towns across Malaysia to run workshops too. I went to the KL store when looking at the D7000 and got great advice from them, and was able to later attend workshops in my local town, Tawau, and Kota Kinabalu in Sabah. They also run get togethers for model shooting and various competitions. The showroom in Kota Kinabalu is small but is somewhere to go if you need a service or advice. Having the presence here has definitely helped me revive my passion for photography and develop a social network during my time in Borneo, as well as learn new things and win prizes!

    There used to be camera stores where salespeople took time to show you various cameras. But then the customer would buy at one of the discount stores. So now there are very few camera stores.
