  1. Just listened to the interview with Michael Willems. I gotta say, I enjoy pretty much all of the interviews injected into the podcast, but Mr. Willems was by far the best I’ve heard in a long time. He seemed very knowledgeable and was a funny guy. His quote “if books were enough, we could close all of the universities and lock up students with a stack of books” was hilarious. Thank you Frederick and everybody at TWIP for a great weekly podcast.

  2. It was mentioned that Kodak produces the sensors for the M9 and other bodies. They sold that business in November 2011.

  3. Always interesting to hear people talk about Olympus and how they should innovate when I have features on my Oly cameras that comparable Canons and Nikons haven’t discovered yet. They are a lot like Apple in the late 90’s. Maybe Sony’s investment will pay off handsomely. It’s about to be a mirrorless world and Canon was late to the party.

    1. I agree. Sony invested in Olympus BECAUSE they innovate. It seems that most people don’t realize this because they only think something is “NEW” when Canikon add it to one of their cameras. Many “key” features that Canikon have on their cameras came about because Olympus did it first. Olympus had the first sensor dust reduction system back in 2003 when they introduced the E-1 (which also had class leading weather sealing) and to this day no other manufacture has been able to match the quality of the Oly dust reduction system. Olympus was the first to put a flip out LCD on a DSLR back in 2006 with the E-330. They have IBIS that outperforms any other IBIS on the market (with the new 5 axis IBIS in the E-M5). Also, mirrorless cameras might not even EXIST right now if Olympus (and Panasonic) hadn’t created and introduced the m4/3 system back in 2008! Olympus also has some spectacular glass! So I think Sony bought into Olympus to tap into their innovative mindset and to get Oly glass on their cameras. 😉

  4. not showing up in iTunes or the feed, any chance you can resolve this.
However the podcasts are excellent and I have been listening for several years.

    Thanks, john

  5. One more listener with an podcast problem: I listened to the whole show last night, streamed I guess, via the Podcast app on iOS. However I can’t *download* the podcast via that app (it stops at 75.67MB of 86.5MB, IIRC). Does not show up on iTunes, as noted by others. Hope those details help in diagnosing the issue.

  6. I’m a fan of the show, but criticism of the show’s inability to deal with non-Canon and Nikon cameras is valid. But what bugs me here is the lack of interest in putting the panel and topic together — a frequent weakness of the show. It would be difficult to get a group of photographers who know less about Olympus and Sony than this one. What did one of them say? “I read that Olympus was important in the film days.” Why not reach out to photographers who can make a contribution to the topics discussed?

  7. If TWiP is interested in having a panel member to discuss mirrorless / Micro 4/3 from a former DSLR shooter, I’d certainly be willing to fill the role. I’m a former Canon full frame shooter who switched entirely to Micro 4/3 two years ago and couldn’t be happier. I operate a photography blog / review site called Admiring Light and I do a fair number of reviews of Mirrorless gear, and I’m still intimately familiar with Canon gear and the upsides and downsides of the DSLR vs Mirrorless question. https://www.admiringlight.com

  8. The interview with Michael Willems was really good, way higher standard than some of them! But the highlight for me has been Valerie Jardin’s own book, Paris je t’Aime, and the Street Photo book, both of which I bought after hearing the show. I *almost* deleted this episode because it broke my two hour rule, but I had a quiet day at work so I held on to it and am glad that I did!
